Davena Lewis graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. Davena has worked in a variety of counseling settings; which include both the public and private sector. She has worked with clients ranging from ages 6 – 75 years of age. She has worked with those struggling with addiction, sexual abuse (both as a victim and perpetrator) as well as those diagnosed with mental health illnesses. She has conducted a number of pre-marital counseling sessions, as well as family and couples therapy.
Although her passion is working with the adolescent males, her vision has remained the same with all her clients; which is strengthening their inner being, defining what change looks like for them and developing healthy ways of applying change.
In her spare time, she golfs with two organizations Golf Buddies and LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association). She is a committee member of Golf Buddies. She is a mentor for the Indianapolis Urban League through their Project Ready program. She is an active member and usher for Eastern Star Church as well as a counselor for the church. She assisted with the kick off for the ROCK initiative through Eastern Star Church. She volunteers a lot of her time while donating to various charities and organizations. She has worked with Project Purse Indianapolis who works with women in need. She has worked with Dress for Success. Her work with these organizations not only uplift women but it helped rebuild their level of confidence and made them better moms for their children. She is currently active with the Lawrence Exchange Club who fights against the abuse of children. She has participated in the food drive through the Chi Chi Omega chapter by putting food in the local bins designated for those in need. She has donated on more than one occasion to the Emerging Pearls Foundation.
She works diligently in improving outcomes for youth within the community. Her motto has been and will always be, “Change can be hard work, but the outcome is worth the sweat and tears put into it.”
